Special Programs

Parent/Child Fencing

This class is geared towards Parent/Child pairs and is comparable to the Beginning Level classes. Parents and their children will have the opportunity to learn basic footwork, bladework and rules together! Within a few classes, students will be able to fence each other!

No experience or equipment is necessary.

Senior Fencing

Come try your hand at fencing! Fencing is truly a lifetime sport - there are even World Championships for the over-50, over-60, and over-70 age categories! It's never too late to start. You'll learn the basics of footwork and blade work while training with foils, and will have fun fencing one another in no time. This class is specifically designed for senior fencers, but seniors are welcome to participate in any of the other adult classes at the Iowa City Fencing Center, or to take private lessons.

No experience or equipment is necessary.
